- 2006 – Conf. Dr. Mircea Filip and Dr. Andrei Filip devoted themselves exclusively to private medicine
- 2008 – introducing for the first time in Romania the GDx equipment, a modern device for the early detection of glaucoma produced by Carl Zeiss Meditech
- 2008 – initiating operations with the ATLisa artificial multifocal lens, produced by Zeiss. It allows patients to see without glasses at any distance
- 2008 – Conf. Dr. Mircea Filip is chosen „Fellow of European Board of Ophthalmology”
- 2011 – At the anniversary of 20 years, the start of the social program through which 20 patients are treated and operated free of charge each year at the clinic
- 2012 – Inauguration of the new surgical center located in Str. Bihor Nr. 39, equipped with state-of-the-art technology
- 2012 – equipping the clinic with the biometer IOL Master 500, Carl Zeiss Meditech
- 2012 – launching for the first time in Romania, in our clinic, through Dr. Andrei Filip, the artificial enVista toric lens from the American company Bausch & Lomb. This hydrophobic lens is for patients with astigmatism
- 2012 – Introduction of Stellaris phacoemulsifier for cataract surgery, equipment produced by the American company Bausch & Lomb
- 2012 – Launching and implanting, for the first time, exclusively at the Ama Optimex Clinic, the ATLisa TRI artificial multifocal lens TRI from Carl Zeiss Meditec, Germany
- 2012 – Conf. Dr. Mircea Filip is chosen President of the Romanian Society of Ophthalmology
- 2013 – Conf. Dr. Mircea Filip becomes International Counselor of the French Society of Ophthalmology
- 2014 – Conf. Dr. Mircea Filip is chosen Honorary Member of the Hungarian Society of Ophthalmology
- 2014 – Starts the partnership with the European Medicover Group. Medicover patients are treated in the clinics within the network by the medical teams of the Ama Optimex Clinic. In Medicover clinics in Victoria, Pipera and Plevnei there are opened 3 Optic Shops “8ik of Ama Optimex”
- 2014 – Ama Optimex is selected for the introduction on the Romanian market of the VisuMax femtolaser, produced by Carl Zeiss Meditec. This femtolaser allows us to perform the SMILE technique and to reduce myopia and myopic astigmatism up to -15 combined diopters, myopia up to -10 diopters, myopic astigmatism up to -5 diopters. Thus, Ama Optimex becomes the only clinic in Romania and one of the 3 clinics in Central and Eastern Europe equipped with this device
- 2015 – Ama Optimex Clinic becomes Preferred Partner of Zeiss on the Romanian market
- 2015 – Launch of Amblyz electronic glasses exclusively in Romania. Amblyz are the first electronic glasses in the world to treat amblyopia
- 2016 – The introduction in Romania of the new device for the determination of the visual field: Humphrey Field Analyzer 3 from Zeiss, equipped with a liquid lens that allows the diopter to be changed at the touch of a button
- 2016 – Dr. Andrei Filip is invited to to be co-author of one instructional course on the Relex SMILE technique at the Congress of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery – ASCRS
- 2016 – Dr. Andrei Filip Is invited to present his experiences and opinions about the ReLEx SMILE operation at the Symposium organized by ZEISS in the Latin America on “Defining the Future of Refractive Surgery with SMILE” within the Congress of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery – ASCRS
- 2016 – 25 years anniversary of Ama Optimex
- 2017 – Dr. Andrei Filip (co-author), Associate Professor Dr. Filip Mircea, Dr. Miruna Nicolae, Dr. Raluca Moisescu, and Engineer Cornel Eugen Rotaru contributed to the creation of the book “SMILE – Small Incision Lenticule Extraction”, a guide on the SMILE technique for doctors worldwide, available in English and Spanish.
- 2018 – Introduction of the state-of-the-art SUPRA 810 laser, enabling the minimally invasive laser subcyclophotocoagulation procedure to reduce intraocular pressure in glaucoma patients.
- 2018 – Introduction of the Pentacam AXL, a next-generation device providing highly precise diagnostics for the entire anterior segment of the eye.
- 2018 – Introduction of the Eylea treatment for age-related macular degeneration (AMD), wet form – the most advanced treatment available worldwide at that time.
- 2018, May – 1,000 SMILE procedures performed in our clinic.
- 2018, December – First implantation in Romania of the AT Lara artificial lens (Carl Zeiss Meditec), expanding the company’s portfolio with EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) technology.
- 2019 – Dr. Andrei Filip becomes Fellow of the European Board of Ophthalmology.
- 2019, April – The launch of the PRESBYOND technique in Romania, a laser procedure for presbyopia that allows adaptation for vision at all distances, with a personalized treatment for each eye.
- 2020, June – The 8ik store in Plevnei relocated to the Medicover The Bridge building.
- 2020, February – Introduction of the latest generation MEL 90 excimer laser from Carl Zeiss Meditec, one of the most modern and fastest excimer lasers in the world.
- 2020, June – Introduction of the new Zeiss Cirrus 6000 OCT scanner, launched internationally just few months earlier. This scanner is faster and provides a new level of retinal imaging.
- 2020, September – Introduction of the new Stellaris Elite ultrasound phacoemulsifier for cataract surgeries, the latest-generation phacoemulsifier from Bausch & Lomb.
- 2020, October – Introduction of the Pentacam AXL Wave, which combines Scheimpflug tomography with axial length measurement, aberrometry, objective refraction, and retroillumination.
- 2020, December – First intracorneal ring implants for keratoconus, a procedure designed to restore visual acuity for patients suffering from keratoconus.
- 2020, December – Expansion of the portfolio of refractive surgery with the Visian ICL intraocular lens implant.
- 2022, February – Introduction of the IOL Master 700 from Carl Zeiss Meditec, the new gold standard in ocular biometry. Its state-of-the-art technology allows precise measurements, even in cases of advanced cataracts or corneal alterations (e.g., post-laser refractive surgery).
- 2022, August – Ama Optimex introduces, for the first time in Romania, the VisuMax 800 laser, the latest-generation femtosecond laser from Carl Zeiss Meditec. This enables even faster SMILE PRO procedures (between 6 and 9 seconds) for myopia up to -10D and myopic astigmatism up to -5D, significantly reducing intraoperative risks.
- 2022, December – Introduction of the MS-39 diagnostic device, the most advanced instrument for analyzing the anterior segment of the eye, and the only one on the market that combines corneal topography with high-resolution anterior segment OCT tomography.
- 2024, December – Performing first SMILE procedure for hyperopia in Romania. Dr. Andrei Filip is part of the select group of doctors worldwide chosen by Carl Zeiss Meditec to coordinate the launch of SMILE PLUS in Romania. He is the first accredited doctor in Central and Eastern Europe to perform this technique and has conducted the first procedures in this region.
- 2025, January – First procedure in Romania using the latest multifocal intraocular lens from Carl Zeiss – AT ELANA.
